Quasimorph Stock Exchange Guide

Mission board economics, direct purchase tabs, and when barter beats credits

Quasimorph Stock Exchange Guide

The Stock Exchange on the Magnum is Quasimorph’s mission board and commerce hub in one screen. Version 1.0 (Steam, July 31, 2026) ties contract selection to the same UI where faction traders post supply-and-demand prices, barter rows, and — once standing is high enough — direct credit purchases. Magnum Scriptum refined station tooltips in Patch 1.0.1 so accepted goods and demand lists are easier to read without hunting secondary menus. This guide explains how prices move, when to use faction credit versus barter tabs, what Fast Trading does, and why reputation below zero still breaks trade.

Pair this page with Choosing Contracts in Quasimorph for briefing discipline, Bartering on the Magnum for reputation floors, and Trade Shuttle Guide when shuttle modes beat terminal shopping.

Stock Exchange versus mission board

Players use “Stock Exchange” and “mission board” interchangeably. The same UI hosts:

  1. Contract cards — beneficiary, victim, travel, floors, station type, Power Concentration, and Reward.
  2. Faction trade panels — docked station commerce when a trader is present.
  3. Price indicators — supply-and-demand shifts on goods that station wants or surplus sells cheap.

Monitoring upgrades from the Magnum tree make this screen readable early. Without Monitoring, players sort by Reward alone and burn clones — the failure mode Choosing Contracts warns about.

Supply-and-demand pricing

Quasimorph does not use a static general store. Each faction station expresses what it needs now versus what it dumps cheap. Supply-and-demand pricing means:

  • Goods a station needs cost more barter points or credits to buy elsewhere, but sell high here.
  • Goods a station surplus sells at discount — useful for funding kits, dangerous if you liquidate story keys.
  • Prices shift as the solar system evolves; a profitable flip on Mars may thin out after faction Power grows on Quasimorph Solar System nodes.

Treat the Stock Exchange like a commodities screen, not a catalog. Before you sell extracted loot, ask whether tomorrow’s contract wants that category. Loot Priority Guide names Magnum bottlenecks; the Exchange tells you which station pays best for them today.

Station tooltips after Patch 1.0.1

Launch-week trading UI hid demand lists behind extra clicks. Patch 1.0.1 improved station tooltips for accepted goods — hover or inspect a docked trader and see which item categories count as full-value versus reduced-price without opening a separate reference panel. This pairs with Magnum Scriptum’s broader QoL work on trading clarity announced alongside Post-1.0 Hotfixes.

Until you confirm your client build includes 1.0.1 tooltip text, keep a manual note of what your target faction buys. After 1.0.1, re-check tooltips before every bulk sell — reduced-price warnings are still intentional sinks.

Faction credit tab versus barter tab

Docked traders typically expose two purchase lanes:

Barter tab — spend barter points and matching loot categories. This is the default progression lane for Class Chips, rare components, and reputation-gated stock from Quasimorph Factions Guide. Barter points accumulate through successful deals and missions; they are not the same as raw credit balance.

Faction credit tab (direct purchase) — buy rows outright with credits once standing clears the unlock threshold. Community testing places the direct purchase tab around 25–30 reputation with a given station — exact numbers vary by faction tier and patch tuning. Until you reach that band, credits alone cannot shortcut barter ingredient requirements.

Rule of thumb:

  • Use barter when you need named chips, story goods, or point-efficient swaps.
  • Use credits when standing is unlocked and you need a fast restock before a timed contract.
  • Never assume credits replace ingredient rows — many high-tier items still demand extracted loot categories.

Reputation gates and the sub-zero break

Reputation governs both tabs. High standing unlocks better stock and discounts. The critical fail state unchanged since 1.0: if reputation falls below zero, barter points for that faction are cleared. Direct purchase tabs may also lock until you repair standing.

Recovery playbook:

  1. Stop selling contraband tied to the offended faction at their terminal.
  2. Run friendly contracts with that faction as beneficiary — see Choosing Contracts.
  3. Use Trade Shuttle sell-for-reputation mode on surplus, not narrative keys.
  4. Resume point and credit spending only when standing sits safely above zero with buffer.

Sub-zero reputation is an emergency, not a discount phase. The Stock Exchange will not fund your next horror kit until you rebuild trust.

Fast Trading setting

Fast Trading is a quality-of-life toggle on the Exchange UI that compresses confirm steps for repetitive buys and sells — bulk med restocks, ammo top-ups, and post-Mars farming liquidation. Enable it only after you understand reduced-price warnings and story-flagged items. Fast Trading speeds honest housekeeping; it also speeds mistakes like selling Phase Bomb components or rite materials flagged in Walkthrough Hub pages.

Recommended workflow:

  • First pass of a new faction: Fast Trading off, read tooltips, note accepted goods.
  • Repeat farming loops: Fast Trading on, pre-sort ship stash with cryochamber rules from Patch 1.0 QoL.

Stock Exchange and contract selection together

The Exchange is not separate from mission planning. Beneficiary and victim on contract cards shift faction Power — which in turn shifts prices and stock next visit. Completing a Hexarch-friendly Robbery may open credit rows while starving a Civil Resistance beneficiary you still need for Civil Resistance Walkthrough.

Before you click Launch:

  1. Read the contract card per Choosing Contracts.
  2. Check docked trader tooltips for accepted goods if you plan to sell after extract.
  3. Confirm reputation buffer above zero on factions you will trade with post-mission.
  4. Compare Exchange prices against Trade Shuttle typed barter for mixed loot cleanup.

Patch 1.0.1 also clarified skull display versus Solar System map difficulty and mission prep beneficiary UI — cross-check Patch 1.0.1 Notes if briefing text and map icons disagree.

Common Stock Exchange mistakes

  • Sorting contracts by Reward without reading beneficiary or travel time.
  • Selling story goods at surplus prices because Fast Trading skipped the confirm dialog.
  • Expecting credit purchases at 10 reputation when the tab unlocks nearer 25–30.
  • Ignoring 1.0.1 tooltips and repeating pre-patch guesswork on accepted goods.
  • Letting reputation dip negative during a multi-faction storyline week.

The Stock Exchange rewards planners who read tooltips, respect reputation, and match supply-and-demand flips to Magnum bottlenecks — not players who treat it as a vending machine.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the Quasimorph Stock Exchange?

The Magnum mission board and faction trade hub combined. It lists contracts with supply-and-demand prices, barter rows, and direct credit purchases once reputation is high enough.

When does the direct credit purchase tab unlock?

Community testing places the unlock around 25–30 reputation with a docked faction station. Until then, barter points and ingredient trades remain the main purchase lane.

What changed for station tooltips in Patch 1.0.1?

Accepted goods and demand categories display more clearly on station tooltips, reducing guesswork when selling extracted loot at full versus reduced price.

What does Fast Trading do on the Stock Exchange?

It compresses confirm steps for repetitive buys and sells. Enable it only after you know which goods are story-critical and which are safe bulk liquidation.

What happens if reputation drops below zero while trading?

Barter points for that faction clear and purchase tabs may lock until standing recovers. Sub-zero reputation is a hard trade break, not a discount.

Should I use the Stock Exchange or Trade Shuttle after a mission?

Use the Exchange for faction-specific stock, credit buys, and contract selection. Use the Trade Shuttle for mixed loot spikes, reputation repair sells, and proxy cargo.
